1.Photo Tour to Lahaul Spiti

Highlights of the Tour

The tour takes you to the bastion of Budhhism in Northern India, the Spiti Valley, situated in the remote eastern Himachal Pradesh. Arid and sparsely populated, Spiti Valley, meaning Middle Land in the local dialect, is a high altitude cold desert. It is home to some of the oldest monasteries in India. Combine photography with a bit of adventure, and the mystical Chandratal Lake, this is one photography expedition which should not be missed.

What to expect in terms of Photography:

With Ochre colored terra firma, blue skies and white puffy clouds, Spiti Valley is a delight for Landscape photographers. For Street & Portrait photography, there are the locals, with their weathered and creased faces, cute, pink cheeked kids running in the streets and the Lamas in their orange and maroon robes. With a plethora of old monasteries, built in the traditional style, and also new construction techniques like the Rammed Earth style, Spiti also offers a chance of Architectural Photography. Because of its high altitude, low levels of light pollution and relatively haze-free atmosphere and clear views of the night skies above, Spiti also offers a chance to try your hand at some Astro photography. The Piece de Resistance is in the form of a visit to the Chandratal Lake. The ending stage of the tour will be in Tirthan Valley, home of the Himalayan Trout and the Great Himalayan National Park.
